Had a great time supporting the Southern Utah University Construction Management program at their golf tournament! It was an honor to spend time with the students who are working hard to build strong careers and even stronger communities. Programs like this are helping prepare the next generation if builders and leaders, and I'm proud to support their efforts.
Phil Schmidt will be the best thing that ever happened to Cedar City! The man seeks and accomplishes perfection in all his endeavors. Imagine having a Mayor that doesn’t need advisors to tell him how infrastructure works or should be applied, because he is one of the best at water, sewer, roads, and all other utility installations. He understands that Cedar City is booming, but he also understands Cedar City’s infrastructure is way behind the growth boom. Instead of exploring for water, he wants what we need—immediate culinary water relief, water we can use now, not someday. He truly cares for Cedar City and realizes Cedar is outgrowing its roads, water, sewer, etc. demands, and it needs to be addressed. Cedar City needs to realize we are no longer a small town, which, yes, is sad, but what we need are officials that understand that and are dedicated and capable of addressing those issues. Phil Schmidt is that individual! He has the knowledge and dedication to improve this City tenfold. He is not running for personal benefit or personal gratification; he is running purely because he loves this City and wants it to be perfect. Everything he does, he does to the best—near perfect. He doesn’t cut corners. He understands the difficulties this town faces, and he has the answers, knowledge, and tools to make it happen!
He is not running for Mayor for anything other than to improve the quality of life for this community! He truly does love this City and wants it to thrive! We have to accept that Cedar City is going to grow. What we do need to do is ensure it grows right and true, and Phil is almost the perfect person at the perfect time to guide this City to near perfection! I have known this man for close to thirty years. He is a good man; he has built a company whose foundation is built on excellent craftsmanship and quality! If you have any questions or concerns, call the man. Ask him his agenda, ask him about his plan to get Cedar City right! The only reason he is running for Mayor is because he wants Cedar to thrive, and he knows that we need to improve our infrastructure as well as improve quality of life!

After more than 30 years in municipal government, I've seen both good and bad in elected office. Cedar needs someone with your ethics, values, and above all, your common sense. Even though I live in the county, you will always have my support.

Every year, young people in our community dedicate countless hours to raising and caring for livestock—cattle, pigs, goats, and more—for the local show. These projects aren’t just about the animals; they teach responsibility, discipline, and the value of hard work. From early mornings feeding to late nights checking pens, these kids learn lessons that will shape them for life.
At the end of the show, their animals are auctioned off, often serving as a way to fund future projects, support their education, and reward their dedication. I’m proud to support these youth each year by purchasing animals at the auction. It’s a small way to give back while encouraging the next generation to continue growing in character, confidence, and contribution to our community.
When we step up to support these kids, we’re not just buying an animal—we’re recognizing their effort, their perseverance, and their commitment to a way of life that builds leaders for tomorrow.

My name is Maya Hulet. This was my first year showing a steer at the livestock show. My family and I just moved to Iron County to be closer to our family. I just wanted to thank you for purchasing my steer. I was really nervous nobody would want to buy him. I plan on using the money to buy another steer for next year and to help me with my savings for college.
